Alysa Ain – Washington, D.C. Psychotherapist
she/her/hers
Therapy is a creative space where we collaborate to help you discover what you need to live a satisfying, joyful life, and develop the freedom and courage to make choices that honor these needs.
As a former corporate lawyer, I have a special interest in working with professionals (particularly lawyers!) feeling stressed and stuck in their careers. I also love working with anyone else urgently asking: what am I doing with my life?
My approach is deeply empathic, psychodynamic, and relational. We will explore how your past experiences influence your emotions and beliefs. We will also cultivate radical attention to what is present now.
Guided by your individual process of growth and healing, we may integrate mindfulness practices, or somatic interventions that work directly with patterns in your nervous system. Our purpose together is to make it more and more possible for you to know, express, and actualize what you truly desire.
You can contact me by email or by phone (202) 630-8120. I do my best to return all inquiries within 24 hours.
In addition to the work described above, I have experience providing trauma-informed, LGBTQ+affirming, and culturally responsive therapy around:
Licensed Graduate Social Worker in the District of Columbia
Licensed Master Social Worker in New York
The Fifth Avenue Counseling Center, Staff Psychotherapist
Institute for Community Living – Two Bridges Women’s Shelter, Clinical Social Work Intern
New York University Silver School of Social Work, MSW
Ongoing training in somatic therapeutic voice work
As a former corporate lawyer, I specialize in working with lawyers & professionals feeling stressed and stuck in their careers.
